Among the vineyards of the Antica Cascina dei Conti di Roero, there are some areas in very good positions and from where high quality wine is obtained, with very good structure, full-bodied, soft and with intense but delicate perfumes. It is drunk after 20 months of refining in noble wood barrels. Grape variety: 100% Nebbiolo (lampia variety). Soil: medium consistency tending to sandy, with alkaline pH. Exposition: facing South/ South-West. Colour: ruby-red, with garnet highlights. Bouquet: good aromas of this wine merge with touches of vanilla and cocoa resulting from the ageing in wood to form a very refined complete bouquet. Taste: this wine is undoubtedly worthy of the variety, with the sandy soil of the Roero providing the good structure that is then mellowed by ageing in wooden casks. Big tannins are preserved in the wine, giving it a long lingering finish. Serving Temperature: 18°-20°C. Food coupling: recipes from the Piedmontese tradition, red meats, game, matured cheeses. It is a wine that can be drunk immediately or after many years.
