Cantina di Esanatoglia (Esanatoglia - Macerata)

Alessandro Vecchietti’s winery is in the Matelica area, famous for the most mineral and enduring Verdicchio. The name of the winery is a homage to the local small town of Esanatoglia and a clear tie to the territory. It’s a tiny winery where everything goes slowly with the rhythm of the nature. In the cellar there is almost no technology, only barrels and people.

In the 2,2 hectares (5 acres) of vineyards the vines are planted with high density to generate a kind of biological competition among the plants. This allows only strong and rich bunches to survive and offers better quality without pruning during summer.

All this make the Cantina di Esanatoglia wines full of character. That’s why we fell in love with them.

Today we offer two wines: the Verdicchio di Matelica is very fruity and mineral; the Pinot Noir „Case Quagna“ is smooth and enchanting.
