From the Gallina hill, with its splendid sun exposure, comes this Barbaresco from the Negro Giuseppe winery. The DOCG consortium requires that the Barbaresco is aged at least 9 months in wooden barrels, but Giorgio Negro, owner and winemaker of the winery, lets it rest for 24 months before bottling it. To this are added 6-12 months of aging in the bottle, depending on that year’s vintage. The result is a wine ready to drink immediately thanks to the full development of tannins, but also can be left in the cellar for another handful of years. Giorgio Negro, owner and enologist of the winery, talks about it in this video.
