Terra del Varo is 85% Aglianico and 15% Merlot which is quite unusual in a region where the international varieties and not very popular.

Terra del Varo is aged in steel and barrique, with additional 6 months in the bottle.
Typical spicy (red peppercorn, bitter cacao) and fruity (black cherry and blackberry) Aglianico aromas to the nose.
To the palate the Merlot helps to reach more intensity and depth for a nice bodied wine that can be enjoyed straight away or cellared for another 3-4 years at least.
