The Malvasia di Casorzo d'Asti is a not very common variety indeed, but Fabrizio Mazzetti and his family are able to make the best out of it. Distilled with a low pressure system and with copper steam stills this grappa ages seven years in french oak and cherry casks under the control of the Liquor Control Agency to make sure that the amber colour comes from the wood and not from any kind of manipulation. The result is an amazing grappa with a great variety of fragrances and a very intense taste also given by the fact that it has not been filtered. One more gem from one of the oldest Italian distilleries.
