Basilicata

italia_2.png

Basilicata is the Italian region with the smallest amount of vineyards because of the geographical morphology and the climate: we are in the South of Italy but yet in a very mountainous region with a rigid climate.
Aglianico is the most common vine, specially in the Vulture area, but the international grape varieties are widespread as well.
Our choice for in-wine rewarded the small winery of Giovanni de Blasiis in the Alta Val d’Agri valley. Giovanni, working in a totally natural way, is able to produce fantastic wines from Chardonnay (with amphora fermentation) and from Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot.
