Giorgio Pecora (Cori – Latina)
We visited the winery of Giorgio Pecora and his son Federico on a late‑summer afternoon, right between the harvest of the white grapes and the beginning of the reds.
The 5‑hectare estate — 3.5 of which are vineyards in a single plot — lies in the hills of Cori, in the province of Latina.
When evening fell (and after enjoying Giorgio’s culinary skills, thanks to a stunning pasta all’Amatriciana he cooked for us), we experienced firsthand the beauty of the local temperature variation, so crucial for the perfect ripening of the grapes.
Federico, who has now taken over the management of the winery, is focusing on local, easy‑drinking wines, without abandoning the idea of producing ancient‑style wines where time rewards those who have patience.
Malvasia and Grechetto are the white varieties grown here, while for the reds everyone is hoping for a favorable vintage for Nerobuono to return soon. In the meantime, we enjoy an excellent Cesanese and a phenomenal Cabernet Franc.
Volcanic soils, family warmth and genuine passion. For all these reasons, we are proud to have Giorgio Pecora’s winery in the in‑wine catalog.
