Poderi Borselli (Montegiovi - Grosseto)
The adventure of winery Poderi Borselli started in year 1996 with the name Azienda Biologica La Poderina Toscana, then changed into the current name in 2019, to underline the organic (biologico = organic in Italian) the organic spirit of the founder Davide Borselli.
The selection of which hills to use for olive trees and which ones for vine was the first job showing Borselli's aim to reach a perfect balance with the local nature.
Starting from year 2005 Davide's son, Fausto, took over the managing of the farm with an even stronger focus on organic farming with the introduction of biodynamics methods and approaching the so called movement of the "natural" wines.
Since then Poderi Borselli wines are made with full respect of the nature.
Only native yeasts are used for the fermentation and the temperature is controlled only when necessary.
In the vineyards they follow the biodynamic principles so to achieve healthier and stronger plants. In the cellar most of the work is manual.
The farm is totally self-sufficient with photovoltaic panels and the production of energy through the olive oil production waste.
In the last years Poderi Borselli joined the international organization Slow Food for the promotion of an healthy approach to nature.
