Aging Arneis in oak is getting more and more popular after the winemakers discovered the incredible potential of this method applied to the most important white wine from Piedmont with a result similar to the best Chardonnay wines.
With the right care and terroir conditions Arneis can easily support the barrique aging despite its lack of acidity.
That is the case of Durio's Arneis Villanova that is produced in Agliano Terme (provice of Asti) on chalky-claysh soil with north exposure on 220 meters above sea level.
This perfect combination provides the wine with the right acidity to gain taste and intensity through the 8 months spent in barrique barrels.
Durio's Arneis Villanova is a typical fruity Arneis with additional sapid taste. To the nose it reminds to herb candy and ripe fruit.
Great balance to the palate with almond notes.
PAIRING: fish as well as poultry, risotto and cheese.
