Having a vineyard near a forest ("bosco" in Italian) has become a rarity in the Langhe, where almost everything is now vineyards.
But the proximity of the forest is a great advantage, especially in recent years as rising temperatures are causing many crops to suffer from the heat.
The Barbera Bosco di Contrada di Sorano takes its name from the forest that borders the vineyard in Serralunga d'Alba, and it helps to bring freshness to a grape variety that already stands out for its acidity.
Yet in the "Bosco" we also find a lot of taste and delicacy.
This is thanks to the hand of Paolo Baudana, a young but experienced winemaker who is increasingly carving out an important space among the Langhe producers most attentive to the contemporaneity of wine.
Plum and red fruits on the nose, enveloping freshness on the palate thanks also to the 6 months of wood that have rounded off its flavor profile.
