Whether it’s a passing trend or a movement destined to last is hard to say, but the fact that the so-called Orange Wines are drawing a large following is undeniable.
In reality, they’re simply white wines macerated on their skins, which gives them their distinctive amber-orange color.
Rossovermiglio began making it almost for fun, yet it turned into a huge success.
Depending on the vintage’s characteristics, the winery chooses to produce it with either Greco or Falanghina.
For 2019, they opted for the latter.
In the glass, the color is a rich amber. On the nose you’ll find ripe fruit aromas—from peach to apricot—along with almond and vanilla.
The palate is held up by refreshing acidity, making it a great match even for flavorful Asian dishes.
Like all Rossovermiglio wines, this Ambrato is vegan-friendly, since no animal-derived products are used during vinification.
Additionally, Rossovermiglio wines contain very low levels of sulfites.
