Cantina del Tufaio (Zagarolo - Rome)
For six generations, the Loreti family has been cultivating grapes in Zagarolo, a small town about thirty kilometers from Rome, characterized by soil formed 20,000 years ago following the lava flow from the eruption of the Grande Vulcano Laziale.
The tuffaceous soil has become an emblem of the winery, with all the minerality that makes volcanic-origin wines so special.
Today, the winery is led by Nicoletta Loreti, who for some years first assisted her father Claudio and then began managing every production aspect personally: from the vineyard to the winemaking process.
With Nicoletta's vision, the wines of Cantina del Tufaio have progressively become more authentic and natural, also thanks to the abandonment of any synthetic products: only copper and sulfur are used in the vineyard, while fermentations in the winery are spontaneous.
The wines of Cantina del Tufaio are tasty and sincere, a faithful reflection of the people who produce them.
