The organic Nebbiolo from Veglio Luigi & Massimo is produced using grapes grown in a vineyard of only two hectares, exposed to a south-southeast aspect in the Municipality of Grinzane Cavour.
Here, the soil is sandy with marl-calcareous veins—essentially, the ideal base for a fragrant and elegant Nebbiolo.
The vineyard is 25–30 years old and is likely at its prime in balancing yield and quality.
To create this little marvel of flavor and spontaneity, Massimo and Luigi choose to split the must into two parts: one portion matures in steel tanks, while the other half evolves in French oak tonneaux.
Cherries and rose petals greet the nose, while on the palate, a perfectly refined tannin guides the sensations, delivering a gratifying and persistent flavor.
Only 5,000 bottles of this wine have been produced.
PAIRING: Tagliatelle with ragù and mushrooms, and medium-aged cheeses.
