TIMORASSO DERTHONA COLLI TORTONESI DOC 2024 -CLAUDIO MARIOTTO

Claudio Mariotto's Derthona is the iconic wine symbolizing the rediscovery of Italy's native grape varieties.

Following extensive recovery work started in the early 1990s, we now have a hugely successful white wine that perfectly blends aromas and minerality, easy drinkability, and excellent aging potential.

Mariotto's 2024 Derthona, produced from 100% Timorasso grapes, comes from a selection of estate-owned vines on calcareous-clay soils.
Average yield is around 7000 kg per hectare.

After harvest at the end of September, spontaneous fermentation occurs in temperature-controlled tanks.
As per regulations, it then ages on fine lees with frequent batonnage for one year in steel tanks, followed by 6 months in bottle.

The bouquet features fresh fruit, chamomile, and gunpowder notes. On the palate, freshness and salinity explode.
Excellent persistence.
Great aging potential (up to 7-8 years or longer).
