Just like all other wines by Baglio Diar, Nero d'Avola Nedda shows a character taken from the Sicilian literature on the label and a quote from a local storyteller, Giovanni Verga in this case.
This is to say how much this wine is linked to its Sicilian roots.
Nedda comes from night harvest made during the first 10 days of August, when the grapes are still fragrant and rich of yeasts.
After the fermentation at 24 degrees this wine ages 3 months in barrique and then 3 months in steel so to reach our table with an incredible bouquet of black cherry and blue raspberry. Vanilla and cloves aromas will arise few seconds after.
Very smooth and persistent with an unusual hazelnut and cedar nuances in the end.
Wine Enthusiast rated "Nedda" as excellent with 90 points and this note: "The nose features both rich fruit notes of strawberry jam and wild cherry and fresher, more piercing aromas of orange zest, fennel, salt and pepper. The palate leans into the fruit but also preserves that crunchy vibrancy, while tannins are present but not domineering".
PAIRING: great with game and grilled meat
