Another happy experiment from the Marchesi Incisa della Rocchetta estate is this blend of Barbera and Pinot Noir. Here the beautiful structure of Barbera is enriched with the aromas of Pinot Noir in a balance that changes from year to year based on how the oenologist Donato Lanati deems it more appropriate based on that year’s vintage. The Rollone, aged for 8-12 months in barrique, is a wine to be enjoyed with any dish and which can easily age for at least 5 years in the bottle.
