The winemaker Lorenz, owner and oenologist of the Cora winery, gives the utmost care to the grapes of this cuvée.
The harvest takes place at different times.
For the 2022 vintage, the Merlot was harvested on September 23, while the Cabernet Franc on October 7.
The beauty of small wineries is that they can harvest all the grapes in a single day, ensuring total homogeneity by immediately discarding unsuitable bunches.
The vinification process is also differentiated, although the same for both components: alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in steel, maturation in oak barrels for 18 months. Only at the end are the two masses combined in steel for the final assembly, which then ends with bottling.
The wine is not subjected to clarification or filtration.
The Cabernet Franc + Merlot 2022 from Cora Weingut is a magnificent wine with an intense red color, rich in nuances of red fruits and undergrowth, dried plums, and spices.
In the mouth, it enters like velvet to release its power without excessive “jammy” notes, remaining persistent for a long time.
PAIRINGS: It is clearly a wine that goes perfectly with red meats, from hamburgers to fillets.
