Brunate is a small hill that rises to your right when arriving in Barolo from Alba.
Fully south-facing and with soils falling into the typical Sant'Agata Fossili Marls that characterize Langhe wines, the hill is divided among a few historic producers. Among these, a small portion belongs to Francesco Borgogno's winery, located right at the foot of the hill.
Francesco Borgogno's Barolo Brunate 2021 is a wine that proudly fits into the line of the most traditional Barolos, so no barriques but only 30- and 50-hectoliter casks where, after long maceration, the wine matures for 18 months.
As is typical of wines produced in the Barolo municipality, Borgogno's is ready to drink right away, but clearly one can choose to wait several more years of bottle aging to appreciate its evolution.
Only 5,000 bottles of this 2021 Barolo were produced.
