What a delight, this Goldmuskateller from Winery Cora Weingut.
All the aromaticity of the grape variety (Goldmuskateller = Moscato Giallo) combined with splendid manual work both in the vineyard and in the cellar.
The grapes grow on the Maso Cora with a south/southeast exposure, thus receiving full morning sun, on a hilly terrain composed mainly of fine sands formed from the retreat of glaciers.
Given the small size of the lot, the harvest was done manually and in a single day (September 30 for this vintage).
Only 945 bottles have been produced.
Cora’s Goldmuskateller is a very natural wine with spontaneous fermentation.
After 5 hours in the press the must starts the fermentation followed by rest on lees with frequent batonnage.
No filtration or clarification is carried out.
The nose is rich in fruit: apricot and peach primarily, then nutmeg and rose.
On the palate, it's very creamy with an enveloping taste of almond.
Excellent persistence.
It can age for another 6-8 years.
PAIRINGS: the aromaticity of the Muscat will be useful to temper spicy and seasoned foods. Excellent with Asian cuisine, but also traditional recipes such as pasta with vegetables and lemon scallops.
