CHIANTI CLASSICO GRAN SELEZIONE DOCG 2019 - BORGO LA STELLA

The 2019 Gran Selezione from Borgo La Stella is a splendid interpretation of this relatively new denomination that aims to bring Supertuscans back under the Chianti Classico designation.

For this vintage, the oenologist Maurizio Alongi chose to soften the rusticity of Sangiovese with 20% Merlot.
The 19-month maturation in 500-liter barrels did the rest, delivering a Tuscan red with great temper and structure but a contained alcohol level.

To the nose it is rich and floral, with hints of violet, aromatic herbs, and red berries.
Perfectly balanced on the palate with silky and savory sensations. The finish is very long.
