TOSCANA ROSSO IGT "ASSO" 2022 - ATRIVM

What a wonderful surprise this "Asso" from the Atrivm winery is!

It all starts with an unusual blend that includes 50% Sangiovese together with 50% Petit Verdot and 50% Ancellotta.
The use of Ancellotta, in particular, sparks the curiosity of wine lovers. It is a little-known grape variety, mainly found in Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany, where it is often used to enhance cherry notes and, above all, to add color to other grapes (it is well known that Sangiovese gives birth to wines with a rather pale color).

To make everything even more intriguing, this wine is enriched by aging in barriques, some of which are new, made from wood sourced from Allier, one of the most appreciated regions in France for small barrel production.

Here is this Toscana IGT that in the glass shows an impenetrable red colour with violet reflections.
On the nose, lively red fruit (cherry and currant) softened by vanilla notes. Good body and nice intensity on the palate with smooth tannins.
